Raekwon and Ghostface Killah selling opening slots on tour for $1100

Wu-Tang Clan members allegedly offering pay to play opening slots.

Raekwon and Ghostface Killah are set to embark on a 19 date U.S tour starting July 26th. The duo are looking for opening acts and are offering 15 minute sets for a whopping $1100 according to Digital Music News.

According to an e-mail sent to Digitial Music News artists who pay the fee will be granted a 15 minute set and space at the venue to sell merchandise. The artist will also be added to the official tour flyer.

The pay to play concept has been debated for many years, and usually it’s the promoter who handles opening acts in each market where up and coming artists sell tickets to gain a spot on the event. In some cases tour agencies offer full tour opening slots for an agreed payment.
